Founded in 2007 by Timothy Sanders, Sanders Construction Inc. (SCI) has experienced steady growth in both general contracting and in Firestopping projects. A certified MBE Level 1 and Level 2 company, SCI is the only Buffalo Niagara based construction company performing Firestopping as a dedicated trade.
In 2008, SCI recognized the opportunity for the company to specialize in Firestopping, a process of procedures that prevents the spread of smoke and fire throughout a building utilizing containment and suppression methods. Historically, Firestopping had been performed by each of the mechanical, engineering, plumbing and drywall contractors on a particular job. The construction industry now recognizes the importance of a single-source firestopping contractor in order to ensure safe and quality workmanship on every construction project.
SCI is one of only three certified Firestopping contractors in the Western New York State region and the only MBE Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Firestopping contractor in New York State.
Over the past few years SCI has grow in number of employees and number of projects. Some notable accomplishments in recent years include general contract awards for Buffalo State College Science Building in Buffalo NY and the Center Court Housing Project in Niagara Falls NY. Additionally, SCI was selected by Turner Construction to fulfill several contracts on the $290 million Global Vascular Institute for Kaleida Health in Buffalo NY, scheduled to open in 2012.
